ABSTRACT
Hair serves major role in human aesthetics, and shampoos help to cleanse, nourish, and change texture of hair while meeting varied cosmetic needs. In the present work herbal shampoos of selected Indian medicinal herbs Sapindus mukorossi (reetha), Senegalia rugata (shikakai), Hibiscus rosa-sinensis (hibiscus), Azadirachta indica (neem), and Phyllanthus emblica (amla) were formulated as a sustainable and effective alternative to synthetic variants. The formulations were in depth examined for organoleptic characters such as color, odor, and physical consistency and physicochemical characters such as pH, viscosity, foam stability, dirt dispersion, and cleaning efficiency. The results of herbal shampoo revealed compliance with established standards, emphasizing the potential of these combined herbal blends as effective, eco-friendly alternatives to that of corresponding natural personal care product utilized by consumers on demand.
