ABSTRACT
ABSTRACT
Diabetes mellitus is a chronic metabolic disorder that has reached pandemic proportions, leading to significant morbidity and mortality worldwide. Conventional therapies, while effective in managing blood glucose levels, often come with side effects and may not address the multifaceted nature of the disease. A growing body of evidence supports the use of polyherbal formulations that target multiple mechanisms in the pathophysiology of diabetes. This review critically examines a novel polyherbal formulation comprising Moringa oleifera (Moringa), Trigonella foenum-graecum (Fenugreek), and Berberis aristata (Indian Barberry) as a synergistic approach to diabetes management. We delve into the pharmacological properties of each herb, their combined efficacy, and the supporting evidence from preclinical and clinical studies. The review concludes with a discussion on the potential of this formulation as a complementary or alternative treatment for diabetes.
